Happy New Year!
How are you doing? I hope you had a lovely and restful Christmas. This post is somewhat an intro to the new name of this blog and also to announce that I am officially blogging again – woop! There’s a brief bit on the name change on my updated about page but I think it’s only right that I go into a bit more depth here so I don’t need to mention it again. During the last quarter of last year, I experienced some severe work stress that affected my health both physically and mentally to the point where I wasn’t doing anything I would normally do – normally. I struggled to cope day to day let alone blog about what I was wearing. I didn’t even buy a single new item of clothing. In fact during the time, I had a handful of outfits I wore on repeat because they were easy and comfortable (and warm!). I then had the the urge to discuss this on my blog but realised that it wasn’t fitting for the TSS brand and theme. That’s when I realised that a fashion-focused name was too limiting and I that’s when I had the brainwave to change its name.
I love fashion and style but there is much more to me than that, something I realised last year. Also, the previous name added unnecessary pressure to shop all the time to maintain a consistent upload schedule however I only really shop during the main sale periods – Boxing Day/January and summer sales. So from here on out, this blog is now an open forum for everything I’m passionate about including fashion & style…and much more. I have a lot to say about SO many topics and I want to be able to share that here. Who knows, I might even let you all indulge in my poetry – something I’ve been meaning to get back to writing more of for a while now.
I set my 2018 goals with my close friends just before Christmas last year however my ultimate goal in 2018 is to do what makes me happiest. This blog is a big part of that. Freedom of expression is something I value highly especially when not everyone in the world has the equal rights to do so. I hope all of this makes sense and that you agree.
In the same way ‘*insert any word* of the day’ is a popular phrase/hashtag on Instagram because we’re always changing our locations, outfits, makeup looks etc. is the same way I change and evolve over time in different aspects of my life from my personal style to my food choices. I thought Ness of the Day was fitting for that reason.
Now onto what you all have been staring at whilst reading this – my outfit! As I always point out, I’m not one to follow trends but I have been looking for a pair of unique checked or popper trousers for a while but all the checked trousers were monochrome and all the popper trousers were more tracksuit like and too casual/sporty. These Monki ones combine the two trends together but in a smart/casual way. The mules gives the outfit the effortless look however I’ve also worn them with my Docs and a turtleneck for that edgy look and I can also see me wearing these with any suitable trainers and a crop top in the near future with warmer weather and they’d still look cute. Of course, what makes them most attractive is their price as I got them for an absolute steal at £14 reduced from £35 via ASOS. Monki’s sizing is great too because their Small allows room for that oversized feel whilst still flattering my curves which I’m sure all ladies regardless of size would appreciate. The trousers are currently out of stock so I can’t link them blow for the moment but when they’re back watch this space!
